Professional Experience

Laura Flanagan is an of-counsel member of the firm’s Corporate practice group in the New York office. Laura serves as General Counsel and CCO for several independent investment advisory firms and a private real estate fund. Laura has served in such positions, cumulatively, for four years.

Ms. Flanagan’s practice has focused on commercial real estate finance. She began her career representing New York-based real estate investors and developers and then spent seven years representing national and international banks and institutional lenders, closing highly sophisticated commercial real estate transactions. 

Throughout her legal career Laura has worked on all facets of commercial real estate transactions in the areas of affordable housing and tax credit investment. Her experience includes private equity investment in both proprietary and multi-investor funds, commercial lending, sales and acquisitions, general corporate matters, joint ventures and partnerships.

Laura was part of the team of attorneys that facilitated the multi-billion-dollar transfer of all of JP Morgan Chase’s retail banking facilities to The Bank of New York Mellon in exchange for Chase’s entire Corporate Trust business; the largest transaction of its kind to date.

Laura was Note & Comment Editor for Albany Law Review and is an active member of The Chapin School alumnae community and a member of the board of A Stable Life.
