Jordan Blumenthal is an attorney and government relations consultant in the Government Law & Lobbying Practice in the firm’s Washington, DC office. He has a strong background and extensive experience in federal legislative processes and Florida politics.
Prior to joining the firm, he was Senior Legislative Assistant and Counsel to Congressman Patrick E. Murphy, whose district served a constituency from Fort Pierce to West Palm Beach. In that position, Jordan provided counsel on policy related to defense, tax, budget, immigration, trade, foreign affairs, veterans, intelligence, judiciary, homeland security, flood insurance, and small business, among other areas of legislative activity.
Jordan authored and executed strategy to advance original bills, amendments, and legislative language for his portfolio, including items that passed through congressional committees and the House of Representatives. This included successful amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act and the Defense Appropriations Act. Jordan also staffed the Congressman's work as a member of the Small Business Committee and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, which focused on cybersecurity issues and successfully passed provisions included in the Intelligence Authorization Act to protect transportation infrastructure from cyber and other threats.
Prior to working for Congress, Jordan provided campaign consulting services for Florida candidates running for federal, state, municipal, and judicial offices through his position with Johnson Campaigns, Inc.
