Laurie Rains Rowe is a lobbyist in the firm’s Government Law & Lobbying Practice Group in Washington, D.C. She joined Becker & Poliakoff, after founding Daniel Rains, LLC (formerly Halsey, Rains & Associates, LLC) and serving as CEO of The Coalition for Professional Certification, Corporation, which she co-founded.

She has a decade of experience on Capitol Hill where she served as Professional Staff to the House Committee on Small Business under Chairman Jim Talent (MO), Majority Staff Director for the Government Programs Subcommittee of the House Committee on Small Business under Chairwoman Jan Meyers (MO), and Senior Policy Advisor and Legislative Director to Senator James M. Inhofe (OK).

She is a senior corporate strategy and government affairs professional with over 28 years’ experience leveraging a thorough understanding of the Congressional and Executive Branch policy-making processes and the ability to persuasively communicate complex concepts and programs at the highest level of government and business.

She provides strategic insight and vision while advising on issues to advance business strategies. She has extensive experience building and managing coalitions and corporate partnerships while creating organizational strategic plans designed to meet broad business goals. In addition, she led political consulting and issue management strategies, specifically targeted in the issue areas of professional certification, military transition assistance, veteran and long-term care, as well as various other health care management and reimbursement issues.

During her tenure, she has provided her services to a number of high profile corporations and associations including Microsoft, Intuit, America’s Small Business Development Centers, and The Foundation for Small Business Development, Chemonics, Global Services Group and 21st Century Systems Inc.

Ms. Rowe is the past Secretary and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Foundation for Small Business Development and has served as a Public Policy Board Member for the Suicide Prevention Action Network (SPAN)/American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
