Nahied Usman is admitted to practice before the Virginia bar and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Nahied graduated from Washington College of Law, American University, in 1999 and has been working in the field of intellectual property law since then. Nahied has extensive experience in the preparation of new patent applications, patent prosecution, and opinion work.
During her career, Nahied has represented a range of clients, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, packaging, and flooring manufacturing companies. As such, Nahied’s practice has encompassed diverse technological fields, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, industrial chemicals, and consumer products. Nahied’s current practice primarily focuses on patent prosecution and client counseling in the chemical, biological and medical fields, including various “green” technologies, nanotechnology and nanomaterials, small molecule pharmaceuticals, drug formulations, drug delivery, new methods of treatment, and polymers.
Nahied has argued before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences and provided litigation support for intellectual property lawsuits in a number of jurisdictions.
